a few weekends ago, BYU and the church history department hosted a symposium. while some of the papers presented were very interesting, many were very wordy. i'm not sure i'm quite cut out for the world of academia just yet. 

however, my dad came down and we got to spend the whole weekend with him in my city which was so enjoyable. we had some great conversations and just got to hang out. it was also so neat to see the joseph smith exhibit and read joseph's own words about translating. it was such an enjoyable weekend and it will be one i always remember with my father.

so i have done alot of passover this year. i ran the seder for women's chorus a couple of weeks ago which was such an awesome experience. 160 girls all together celebrating a holiday they have never been exposed to. then i went home this weekend to celebrate with my family on the real night of passover. rivka, sam and their kids all came home for the occasion. we even got to skype in ben & gayle! it was such a fun weekends. lots of laughing, eating, and hebrew. maybe our family has some weird traditions but i like us.

a hebrew adventure

once upon a time, tiger lily and friend decided to take biblical hebrew 101 at byu. friend dropped the class, but tiger lily loved a good adventure so she decided to stick with it. she journeyed through the ancient world of hebrew and then even crossed the border into the modern world. she developed a deep love for hebrew, but always kept it as a hobby while she pursued her music. well the world missed it's spunky visitor and convinced her to come back for a visit in the city of dead sea scrolls. she has been working on compiling these scrolls into a useful computer program for byu ever since. she thought her trip was coming to an end, but this was not to be so. she was just invited to dive into the pool of hebrew in the book of mormon. she was nervous and felt very inadequate, but fearlessly took the plunge! who knows when her hebrew journey will end. right now tiger lily is just excited to be on the journey.
