over the weekend, i had the opportunity to see this film in imax. if you are lucky enough to have it being shown near you, i highly recommend seeing it. it really is like a trip to the holy land. the cinematography was absolutely brilliant!

so one time i was taylor swift. my ward had a grammy night where each fhe submitted a music video. my group decided i look like taylor swift so naturally we had to do one of her songs. it actually turned out to be really fun, even if i did end up editing the whole video with dilated eyes. that was a treat.

if you haven't seen this movie yet, you really should. i watched it last night for martin luther king jr day and it truly got my emotions going. 

i am so grateful for countless men and women who came before me and i hope that if i am ever in a situation similar to theirs, that i will somehow have the courage like they had.

we need more courage in these hard times.

helping hands

so i am a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. being a member of this church has changed and shaped my life in so many ways. seeing this video about service after sandy got me teary eyed, and just reminded me that people around me may not be suffering from the after-effects of a hurricane but still need help. 

i often think that personal battles and struggles are sometimes harder to overcome and generally more wide-spread then physical. this has been true at least in my own life.

i have really been disenchanted with humanity and our world as a whole recently and this video really just brought me back to the beauty of what humans can do.

texas (video style)

birding

so i am a bird watcher. i have been for as long as i can remember. it started because my dad and brothers would go all of the time. as a kid, i would look through the bird books for hours, fascinated with all of the different colors and types of birds. now it has become a real hobby of mine.

while i was in texas, i was surrounded by amazing birds! i mean really. i could have spent the whole trip just bird watching.

i made this video for my dad so he could see some of the cool birds i saw. and i, of course, used music from one of our favorite movies Hatari.

Also that video of the pelican eating the fish. One of the funniest things I have ever seen an animal do. He came down and sat on the edge of that box of fish and ate at least 5 or 6. Every time the fishermen turned around, he would look up and over his shoulders like he was saying "Oh me? I'm just having a casual sit here..." haha so great!
