muse

sheynah and i went to the muse concert for their 2nd Law tour. it was madness! i saw they were coming to slc four months ago and we bought tickets. the countdown was killer but we made it! it was more than just music. it was an art exhibit and a message. the whole theme seemed to be that change needs to happen and soon because our society is crumbling. and i couldn't agree more. if you haven't listened to their latest album, i would highly recommend it. 

i can honestly say it is the best concert i have ever been to and i don't see how anything else could beat it.  

ps. i told myself that if i could see the black keys and muse this year, my life would be complete. and it happened! isn't that the craziest?!

little shops of horrors

on monday, one of my friend's gave me free tickets to see little shop of horrors. i have heard about it over the years, but i have never seen it.

it was great to see life theater again. 

and basically it makes me want to say "FEEEED ME"

john lennon

a couple of weeks ago, moroni and i went to the john lennon art exhibit in salt lake city. apparently john's first love was art and his second was music... who knew? his work is a little cartoon-ish but it was still really cool to see.

so i'm kind of obsessed with chalk...

 

 

 

 

 

 

and i think that chalk paint is the best invention ever. i want to paint a whole wall in my child's play room so that they can draw all they want. and great for labeling and to do lists... the possibilities are endless. anyways dana tanamachi is a graphic designer and "custom chalk letterer" in brooklyn and i think her work is incredible. check her out.

9/11

i was involved in a friend's art project to commemorate the feelings from 9/11. i love the rembrandtesque lighting of these photos. it was a great night of sitting around with people from all over the nation and world discussing what we remembered about the day and how we feel now. 

pudding party!

so some of my guy friends decided to host a pudding eating contest. all who entered were required to make a minimum of 6 cups of the pudding flavor of their choice. needless to say, consuming large amounts of pudding is absolutely disgusting! brandon won the contest by eating 8 cups of pudding!! 

we decided to make some artistic drawings with my leftovers. i think they look pretty fab...

so kseniya simonova's art is fantastic. this art display is about the german's invasion into the ukraine. it is so moving and absolutely incredible!

so i am totally in love with casey o'connells work! one day, when i own an apartment, one of her pieces will be rockin' my wall!
