we spent the fourth making patriotic pancakes, going to a colonial house and listening to a patriotic bass band and reading of the declaration of independence, exploring gardens and a bayou, and then heading to the beach to watch the fireworks. ben got us reservations at a restaurant called "the spot" right on the coast. it was pretty great. proud to be an american. and it was awesome to be in a state so full of state and country pride.
also, NOT selling fireworks is probably the best feeling ever.
