my junior year of high school, i had a friend who was methodist, a rare oddity in idaho falls, idaho. everybody always invited her to mormon church services but never considered going to her church. so i did. we sang at her church services several times and then she invited me to listen to her sing in her church choir during a christmas candlelight service. ever since that first invite, i have made it a tradition to take my family and go every christmas eve. the church usually brings in the idaho falls bell choir, their church choir sings, and then the pastor reads scriptures of the nativity and gives some words to ponder during the christmas season. it really brings the spirit of christmas into my heart and is one of my favorite traditions. i hope to carry it on always.
