The Bonds of Earth
My God is a rock in a weary land,Hide me, Oh my Savior hide, ‘til the storm of life is past,
Efface the footprints in the sand.
Dusk is drawn, the silent twilight falls,
And I long to be by my Savior’s side,
Put out my hand and touch the face of God,
Such harmony is in immortal souls.
But while this muddy vesture of decay doth grossly close it in,
We cannot hear it.
We will go into the house of the Lord,
The high untrespassed sanctity of space.
-Neisah Satterfield
